How it all started...
The Prodigal Son returned home, because he understood that, despite his own wickedness, his father was good.
This is where the story of Proffer Ministries begins: with a knowing that God, our Heavenly Father, is good, that he showed that goodness towards us through his Son, Jesus, and that many don't come to Him because they don't know or doubt this truth.
This is where the story of Proffer Ministries begins: with a knowing that God, our Heavenly Father, is good, that he showed that goodness towards us through his Son, Jesus, and that many don't come to Him because they don't know or doubt this truth.
Proffer Ministries was founded in 2022 by Edward and Katherine Funk, two people who had the same revelation as the Prodigal Son. Knowing God's goodness, they understood that others needed to know Him too. This started them on their journey of evangelism and sharing the Gospel worldwide. That journey was furthered in 2018 when they went to a stadium gathering of Christians called "The Send." While there, God filled them with a hope for the salvation of the nations. Not long after, Ed and Katherine moved to Orlando, FL to train with Christ for All Nations (CfAN) where they learned the ins and outs of organizing mass Gospel campaigns, youth crusades, and effective Gospel presentation. Upon graduating, Ed received his ordination from (CfAN) and began to go out.
Though Ed was ordained through CfAN and received (and still receives) much benefit and resource from their organization, he was not funded by them. He was an independent evangelist needing resources and funds. After a short time, he and Katherine understood that in order to be effective in what God was leading them to do, they needed partnership. They needed community and a team of people with a common heart and desire to share Christ and partners who were eager to sew into the sharing of the Gospel. When Ed and Katherine sought God on what to do, Proffer Ministries was born. A team and board were formed, made up of individuals who also sought to share Christ and make God's goodness known. From there, partners joined and community was built, all for the purpose proffering (holding something out to someone for acceptance or rejection) the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Expanding the vision...
A year after Proffer Ministries began, Ed and Katherine moved back to the town where they met. Ed had been able to share the Gospel with almost 200,000 people by the beginning of 2024, and soon after they were planning local outreaches with the churches in their area. From there, a new believers group was started, and Ed also began to train others out on the field. God was multiplying the work done through Proffer ministries, and it became clear that more people were needed to continue well. In 2025, 3 more evangelists were added to our team, and an initiative was started in Malawi to train locals on how to conduct youth crusades and do outreaches. These teams were then sent out and began to see incredible fruit. Tens of thousands of children were hearing the Gospel each week, and Bible clubs began in many of the schools there. We knew that the model of training locals for evangelism in their own area was a model we needed to continue, so we did. Later in the year, a training of locals was also done in Lima, Peru and another in a different city within Malawi. The teams that went out ended up sharing the Gospel with over one million people last year, and are continuing to go out even still.
Where we are headed...
As we continue to go forward, our plan is this:
- Honor the Father in all we do
- Continue to equip the church for the evangelistic work of the Great Commission
- Help unify the church and give place for others to use their gifts to serve Christ
- Give him our plans, and let him lead our work
